LAF I

KIM JONES

The first artifact that drew a sweeping panorama around Kim Jones and his work, Lore curates in early 2021, designed for the love of fashion as an art form.

EXTRACT FROM ISSUE I: One thing that struck me in particular about the tribal members was their innate sense of style. One of the first memories from my childhood is a portrait of some Masai members, dressed in beautiful red and blue robes, striding sublimely toward the horizon. A few years later, it was this image that inspired Kim Jones to create his debut collection as creative director of Louis Vuitton. For the show, the Brit drew on various elements of the very Masai dresses that fascinated him as a child.THROUGH LORE WE LEARN

LAF II

RICK OWENS

LAF, in its second edition, provides an extensive overview of Rick Owens' work and his remarkble life.

EXCERPT FROM ISSUE II:

"Army blankets have always been a romance for me. A romance that revolves around life and death. The themes of protection and isolation were addressed by Joseph Beuys through the use of felt.[...] They are my own version of Joseph Beuys' felt works," he acknowledges appreciatively.

The Readymade. The wonderful transformation of the mundane, or the reduction to the simplest yet often most powerful statement - he often describes how hypnotic this process is to him.

It is precisely this romance between life and death that continually finds expression in the work of various artists. Frequently, the ideas of different artists are further developed by others, elements of their work reinterpreted in entirely unexpected disciplines - a tribute to the works of artists such as Joseph Beuys, Pablo Picasso, Marcel Duchamp, Francis Bacon, or Julian Schnabel, which extend far beyond their lifetimes."

LAF III

DEMNA

The third edition of LAF puts the focus on Demna and his impressive works, which were created from the essence of his life and his unique creative vision.
